Unfortunately we are not going to be able to view this seemingly visually epic documentary until 2018 but thankfully we can sit in awe after watching the trailer. The beautiful masterpiece is the work of photographer and filmmaker Tom Lowe who is known for amazing film Timescapes, which he used time-lapse photography to showcase the American Southwest.

Awaken, his new film that he has been working on for five years is said to be “a celebration of the spirit of life, an exploration of the Earth, and an ode to the Cosmos” and was filmed in over 30 countries across the globe. Lowe states the film sets out to explore “humanity’s relationship with technology and the natural world.”

Using aerial cinematography, drones, cutting edge time-lapse and time dilation the film should prove to be a game changer-even implementing gimbal technology-using a moving helicopters to shoot astrophotography.

The trailer released is comprised of 4k absolutely stunning sequences in a brilliant meditation on modern society. Awaken is definitely a film to put on your radar.
