Wallpaper is your new energy source.

Talk about innovative. Wallpaper as an energy source?

UM Project, an “indie’ creative studio out of Brooklyn collaborated with the wallpaper company Flavor Paper and created the interactive installation ‘Conduct’ which was presented at NYCXDesign 2017. “The low tech-high touch integration of 2D and 3D elements is made up of five motorized or electrical objects: a lamp, a fan, a speaker, a light box and a hinged mirror.

The wall is printed with copper dots containing conductive ink and when they come into connection with human energy the devices turn on and the complete the electricity circuit. The idea is to do away with ‘the idea of embedding wires within walls and instead using conductive inks to create circuitry that is at once beautiful and functional.’
